Hello and welcome to my blog! My name is Eleanna, as you probably know. I’m 18 years old and just moved for a 9 months time from Berlin, Germany to Hòa Bình, Việt Nam for some volunteer work. It‘s my first time trying to write a blog, so please be nice – I‘m still trying to figure things out. Furthermore, I‘m not a native English speaker, so there will definitely be some mistakes…. And last but not least, I am trying to give a good impression of what it feels like to be in Việt Nam. Still, I am writing from personal experience and my own, probably biased point of view. Therefore, this should not be used to generalise!
Ok, let’s get started then!
As you may recognised, the heading and overall title of my blog is in German. My father designed the blog for me and came up with the title and I like it a lot, due to the reference to Marc-Uwe Kling, one of my favourite German authors. He is mostly known for his humorous books about his life with his roommate, a communist kangaroo, and so I decided to continue with the references and started my blog like he started his books. Although it is not really true – of course there were some things happening in my life before, but none of that in Vietnam…. so I’m kind of starting from scratch too. Also, I feel like this will give a good impression of my future daily life: a tiny bit Vietnamese, a little German and lots of English – so if you should struggle with that: welcome to the club!
So, thank you if you keep up reading and I hope, you will enjoy it!
